Chairman & Chief Executiv​e Officer
Marc R. Viscogliosi

Marc Viscogliosi is a founder of Paradigm Spine and has been its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Managers since August 2004. Prior to founding the company, he was a cofounder and secretary of the Board of Directors of Spine Solutions, Inc., which was acquired by Synthes-Stratec in 2003. In 1999, Marc Viscogliosi cofounded Viscogliosi Brothers, LLC (“VB”), a leading merchant bank and venture capital firm focused on the musculoskeletal/orthopedics industry. He spent six years researching and banking musculoskeletal companies prior to cofounding VB. He was employed for four years as a musculoskeletal/orthopedic research associate, primarily working with his brother, Anthony Viscogliosi. Marc Viscogliosi was a research associate at Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., Inc., Rodman & Renshaw, Inc., and Commonwealth Associates. From 1992 to 1993, he worked as an intern at Martin Simpson & Co. and its successor firms. Marc Viscogliosi has served on two boards of directors of musculoskeletal companies. He graduated from New York University in 1999 with a BA in Economics and Political Science.

Guntmar Eisen

Guntmar Eisen has over 20 years of experience in the spine industry. He has been a key driver of the development and execution of Paradigm Spine’s global operational infrastructure. Prior to joining the company, Guntmar Eisen was the Vice President of Europe Spine Solutions, GmbH, which focused on commercialization of various spine products including the ProDisc Lumbar and Cervical Disc technologies. Prior to his role with Europe Spine Solutions, Guntmar Eisen spent 10 years as Director Product Management of Spine, Trauma & Biomaterials at Aesculap AG & Co. KG in Germany. He earned a degree in Product Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) in Furtwangen, Germany. 

 

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Steven Amelio

Steven Amelio is a financial executive with more than 24 years of experience in the medical device industry. Over his 20-plus years with United States Surgical Corporation; Tyco Healthcare Group, LP; and, ultimately, Covidien, PLC, Steven Amelio rose through the finance department in various roles and spent 10 years in Divisional Chief Financial Officer positions. With his broad knowledge of the medical device industry, Steven Amelio has been involved in all aspects of acquisitions and divestitures and was instrumental in the purchase of technologies in the endo-mechanical, electro-surgery, orthopedic, bio-surgery, and other areas in addition to overseeing and managing global finance organizations. Most recently, Steven Amelio was the Chief Financial Officer for DeVilbiss Healthcare, LLC, a private equity-owned respiratory company, where he helped prepare and separate the business to a standalone platform. He has an MBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting from Iona College in New York.

Dominik Beck

Dominick Beck has been the VP of Marketing of Paradigm Spine, LLC since January 2005. Prior to joining the Company, he worked as a Product Manager and then as the Business Development Manager Europe / SA for Spine Solutions GmbH from 2001 to 2004, where he was responsible for the market launch of ProDisc-L and ProDisc-C. From 1997 to 2000, he was employed by Aesculap AG & Co. KG where he worked as a Medical Consultant for spinal and neurosurgical implants. Dominick Beck received his BA in Finance and Accounting / Marketing at the University of Cooperative Education (Berufsakademie) in Villingen-Schwenningen.

 
 
VP, Finance and Logistics
René Pröll

René Pröll has been the VP Finance and Logistics for Paradigm Spine GmbH since June 2005. From 2003 to 2004, he was Assistant to the Management and Business Analyst for Spine Solutions GmbH, where he was responsible for IT, sales and management reporting, and financial analysis for controlling functions. While studying at the European School of Business Reutlingen (“ESB”), he was involved in a double-degree program and studied at the McCombs Business School at the University of Texas at Austin and the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. René Pröll received a BA (Diplom-Betriebswirt FH) in finance and accounting from ESB and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Indiana University in 2003.

 
VP, Research and Development
Stephan Eckhof

Stephan Eckhof has been the VP of Research and Development of Paradigm Spine GmbH since October 2009. Prior to that he worked for ZRINSKI AG from 2005 to 2009 as member of the managing board and as responsible VP R&D for product development in the branches spine, trauma, upper and lower extremities. From 2001 to 2004 he worked with SPINE SOLUTIONS GmbH as Director of R&D on the development of ProDisc-C and the advancement of ProDisc-L. Stephan Eckhof began his career at AESCULAP AG & Co. KG where he worked as a product development engineer for spinal implants and instruments from 1991 to 2001. He received his diploma certificate in medical engineering at the University of Applied Science Ulm in 1991.

 
VP, Quality Assurance and International Regulatory Affairs
Alberto Jurado

Alberto Jurado has joined the company in March 2009 and took over the position of Director Quality Assurance and international Regulatory Affairs. Prior to becoming the head of Quality Assurance / International Regulatory Affairs, he worked at Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics GmbH for 10 years in the quality department. During this time he acted as an interim director QA, served as the deputy safety officer, helped implement an integrated management system and lead the supplier management program. Before starting in the medical industry he worked for 3 years in the automotive industry at well-known manufacturers. Alberto Jurado has a professional education and background in system engineering, mechanical engineering and industrial business management.
